Masood Akhtar ( MLA Saharanpur Dehat ) is an Indian politician and a member of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, India. He represents the Saharanpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is a member of the Indian National Congress. Akhtar was born on 18 April 1962 in the village of Bhaupur in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh to his father Aslam. In 1986, he married Shama Parveen, they have two sons and two daughters. He belongs to the Backward Class (Muslim Ghadi) community. In 1982, he attended Aligarh Muslim University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
